​A grand home built from childhood's warm memories of a small house in Tha Lenoi, a land of remembrance and reality.

Lotus Residence begins with the warm memories of a small, handcrafted home built by the founder's father in the birthplace of Tha Lenoi, a land rich in lotuses and water buffaloes. This large house is nestled amid the rice fields of Pathum Thani province. Through the collaboration between the homeowner and a close architect friend, the integration of engineering, art, architecture, and landscape transforms Lotus Residence into more than just a dwelling; it is a finely crafted narrative of memories and the art of life.

Situated on a lush hill, the house resembles a floating island in a large lotus pond. The four-story building is designed to harmonize with nature, with the first and second floors blending into the rice fields, while the third and fourth floors align with the sky. The landscaped area incorporates the concept of a water city from the rice fields of Pathum Thani and the peat swamp of Tha Lenoi to manage water, alleviate flooding, and accommodate pets, such as water buffaloes from Tha Lenoi. Additionally, the building's reflection in the water creates a serene atmosphere, while large trees like rubber (Yangna) trees reduce visual and noise pollution from the road, giving the house the appearance of a forest within the city.

The interior space design draws inspiration from the lotus, the symbol of Pathum Thani and Phatthalung provinces. The design is divided into four levels, resembling the growth of a lotus from mud to bloom above the water, with colors transitioning from deep brown to green, pink, and finally white. The decorative materials reflect the natural beauty of the lotus.

The first floor comprises a parking area, main entrance, and service area, concealed by mounds of earth and a golf driving range. The second floor includes the guest hall, family room, dining room, kitchen, fitness area, swimming pool, the homeowner's office, the mother's bedroom, and an ancestor's room, connected to a garden of Payom trees. The third floor is a living space, while the fourth floor serves as an open area for guests and panoramic views.

Each room in the house is designed to have its own unique character, akin to a diverse gallery, connected by open and simply decorated corridors that clearly reflect the structure and components of the building. Given that the homeowner is an engineer and contractor, some structural elements are prominently displayed.

The railings of the internal balcony walkways are crafted from intricately carved teak, depicting lotus roots and flowers, which infuse the space with a touch of minimalist artistry. The central hall features a staircase railing made from interwoven steel pipes, cut in half and alternately placed inside and outside, creating a dynamic, wave-like effect. This not only adds visual interest but also provides robust support for the staircase. Together, these elements symbolize movement and connectivity between the different levels of the home.

The stone and wood floors are designed with radiating patterns drawn from the center of circular courtyard, creating a connection between spaces and structures. The house's centerpiece is a hall with a waterscape view connected to the MAR GALLERY (Memory and Reminiscence Gallery) in a large circular iron courtyard that reflects the knowledge and expertise of the homeowner in construction. The sunlight filtering into the courtyard nourishes the bulrush (krajood), which grows in the familiar natural surroundings of Tha Lenoi. The circle of bulrush, water, and iron gives rise to the gallery that not only tells stories through objects but also conveys warm feelings.

As one walks around the bulrush, the movement feels like a return home, with memories that were once hidden gradually emerging through the changing shadows of light throughout the day and the touch of the submerged large stucco cornices, reflecting the beauty within and the ever-circulating life. Ascending to the second and third floors opens new perspectives on the bulrush swamp from above, connecting users with nature in various dimensions. Continuing to the family area, one finds the fitness area and swimming pool surrounded by lush peat swamp-like trees, where one can touch the leaves at eye level, as if these trees welcome users’ participation.

The swimming pool is adorned with mosaic tiles arranged in a pattern reminiscent of woven bulrush mats, inspired by local craftsmanship, flowing in the direction of the water that cascades into the circular pond below. The surrounding area is enveloped by Indian Oak trees that bloom with bright red flowers in winter, contrasting with the ever-changing seasonal atmosphere. Meanwhile, the fitness area, a natural-colored steel building, features a large carved wooden cornice on the exterior, and an aluminum ceiling resembling lotus pod creates a soft sensation inside. The rubber-patterned flooring sways like lotus leaves, enhancing the atmosphere of tranquility.
